I used to be a bit embarrassed about the number of cook books I owned, until I realised that it was one of those little obsessions/weaknesses one has and from then on I decided they were my reference library, which totally justified my inability to stop collecting them.

After I married, I moved around quite a bit and my collection absolutely reflects where I was at the time I bought each book. I got into the habit of writing where and when I bought a book so that now when I open one I'm immediately transported back to another time and place. They're a record of my life, really, from the age of 12 until now.

What I particularly love, though, is that I am still learning how to cook, and that's the best part.
